Description:

A winding shrub which can become several metres high, with hand-shaped, lobed leaves. Male flowers are pale yellowish- green, in racemic inflorescences. The pale greenish fruits look like cones. They are cultivated for beer production. Spontaneuosly the plant grows in rich pasture woodlands and in hedges in central, eastern and western Europe.

The season starts in July and ends in August.

Allergenicity:

Hop\'s allergenicity is known as being low.

Crossreactions:

There are probably crossreactions with the close related hemp (Cannabis sativa).
