Description:
Greyish-green weed with an unpleasant odor. It is widely cultivated for oil seed production in temperate and cooler climates. The insect pollinated flowers are flashy yellow, however, in cultivation areas pollen becomes airborne as well and can be moved by the wind over several tens of kilometres.Note: A couple of important crops belong to the same family: cabbage, Swedish turnip, cauliflower, kohlrabi, broccoli, mustard, and radish.
Start of the season:
The main season lasts from April to May.
Allergenicity:
The allergenicity is low to moderate.
No clearly defined crossreactions with other pollen is known so far.
